Paints: (total 8 tubes) Coteman watercolors 3 yellows: Lemon, Cadmium & Raw Sienna,
2 reds: Alizarin Crimson & Cadmium Red,
3 blues: Ultramarine, Cerulean & Payne’s Grey
Brushes:
1- Round, size 8,10 or 12
1- Flat 1/2”
1- Rigger (medium)
1- Hake (medium)
Paper: one block Arches cold press watercolor paper, 140 lbs. or heavier, (any size you like to work)
Palette: 1 larger flat palette is better than a small one with many compartments.
What else might come-in handy?
Masking fluid, Pencil, Eraser, Extra palettes, Sketch/note pad, Natural Sponge, Spray bottle for water, Masking tape, Water jar, Image file, Ink.Tape & Spray Please Note:
You’ll need 3 small (travel size) misting spray bottles, painter’s tape (Frog brand seems to work best) an X-acto knife, a self-healing board and scissors. Please be sure to have tubes rather than cakes of paint.
Watercolor Pen & Ink Please Note:
I recommend Faber Castell (sets of 4) ink pens in sepia and black. If you have something similar that is fine.
Acrylic Download
- 1 bottle Chinese ink & palette –plastic cups or shallow dish is fine
- 10-20 sheets 60lb paper or heavier, and or watercolor, vellum, Bristol board or any other paper you like in any size you’d like to try
- Small plastic or glass jar for water
- Pen set with at least 3 nib sizes: I recommend Faber Castell (sets of 4) ink pens in sepia or black or something similar
- 1 # 8,10, or12 round watercolor brush, Chinese brush (or similar equivalent) and 1 medium-sized rigger or signature brush
- What else might come-in handy? Masking fluid, Pencil, Eraser, Sketch/note pad, extra nibs Natural Sponge, Spray bottle for water, eye dropper, stamps, Masking tape, Image file, colored inks, paper towels, straight edge, apron, cheap hardware store brushes.
